Choose a hardwood stick. You don’t want to use a stick
that will end up seeping sap into your marshmallow
Poke a marshmallow onto the stick.
Put your marshmallow into the flames. It will set on fire
and burn. You can pick off the burned parts and eat the soft, gooey inside.
Always supervise children closely when toasting
marshmallows. If a marshmallow catches on fire, children have a tendency to
wave the marshmallow in the air to try to put it out.
Blow it out if it caught
on fire. Do not shake it.
If you just want to caramelize it to a nice golden brown
color, wait till the fire has burned long enough to produce hot coal areas and
then toast it over the coals.
Let your marshmallow cool down for at least 30 seconds
before attempting to eat it.
S’mores
Something else I love doing with Toasted Marshmallows is
making S’mores.
I know there are many different recipes for this out there,
but the way I like to make mine is:
Take two Marie Biscuits, Spread them with Nutella, Toast my
Marshmallow and then put the toasted Marshmallow between the two Marie
Biscuits, squeeze it and eat it – yummy!
